Suspended cop among three held ferrying IMFL
tnn | Mar 28, 2019, 04:35 ISTSurat: Surat rural LCB and SOG branch arrested three persons including a suspended police constable ferrying Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 1.02 lakh from near Pardi Village of Kamrej taluka of Surat district some 25 km of city on Wednesday. Suspended constable tried committing suicide in Kamrej police lock up but was saved.
The trio of Kunal K Chung (19) from Ankleshwar GIDC; Nikunj K Chung (27) and suspended constable Jitendra K Chaudhary (31) were held during drive to stop illegal ferrying of liquor especially during election at Pardi. The accused were ferrying liquor in a car. Cops seized the car, five cell, Rs 32,600 cash and documents of the accused. asdas
The trio was taken to Kamrej police station where under the pretext of going to toilet Chaudhary tried cutting his hand with a blade. However, cops on duty was saved him.
