Unidentified gunmen attacked a monitoring team of the education department in northwest Pakistan, killing a female officer and a soldier on Wednesday, police said.
The armed men targeted the monitoring team during inspection of the schools in Shadi Khel area of Lakki Marwat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
One female monitoring officer, identified as Aasia Begum, and an official of the Levies force were killed in the attack.
Four people, including three officials of the monitoring team, were injured in the attack. They were rushed to a nearby hospital.
The attackers fled the scene after the attack.
Police cordoned off the area and started investigation.
