A 9-year-old mentally disturbed boy died of falling from the terrace of his house on Monday night. The minor Kanha Sharma, while playing fell off the terrace, the parents who were also there didn’t see him falling and only came to know about it when they heard the heard a loud thud and rushed to the spot to see what had happened. The incident took place at Raja Bhoj Parisar under Gandhi Nagar police station limits.
Gandhi Nagar police said the boy was mentally disturbed and school dropout . He was student of Sagar public School but his parents had withdrawn him from the school owing to his mental condition. Victim’s father Hemendra Sharma is a lab technician at Hamidia College, while his mother is staff nurse in TB hospital.
Around 8 pm, leaving their elder daughter playing in her room, the couple went to terrace with their son. As the couple was chatting, the minor while playing accidently fell off the terrace. His parents, who thinking their thought their son had gone downstairs were busy in chatting when they heard a loud thud and realized that Kanha had fallen from the terrace.
They then downstairs and found their son lying in pool of blood. The boy was rushed to hospital where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment around 09:30 pm. An FIR was registered and after the postmortem, the body was handed over to the kin on Tuesday. A probe has been launched into the case, police said.
