A Sydney family who had been desperately searching for their missing dog has been reunited with their pet after it mysteriously turned up on their doorstep in a sealed cardboard box.
Rosie, the four-month-old cavoodle, had been missing since March 4 after she was taken from her family's Randwick home during a burglary.
The family, with the help of their local vet, had launched a search campaign by putting out pleas and missing dog posters on Facebook groups and other social media platforms.

After three weeks of searching, Rosie was anonymously returned outside the home on Sunday in an old electric oven box with puncture holes, but went unnoticed for hours.
One of the family members, Nick Young had even come across the box, but did not pay any mind to it, according to 7 News.
Rosie was finally found after neighbours heard her whimpering and realised she was inside.
'Rosie the cavoodle pup was just dropped off in a box outside her house. I can barely believe it,' the family's veterinary nurse Sophia Gillis said in a social media update.
'Rosie looks skinny but otherwise healthy. She is currently with neighbours and her family are on the way to see her.'
The cavoodle was then taken to the vet and is said to be 'happy and in good health.'

It is believed the person or people who took Rosie felt inclined to return her after seeing the social media coverage and may have deliberately written in that way to cover their tracks.
Police are now investigating the burglary and the CCTV footage will be handed over to determine how Rosie was taken and who returned her.
According to a police release, Rosie was taken after an intruder broke into the family's home and 'ransacked' the master bedroom and took jewellery.
