Criticising Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for his tirade against his Telagana counterpart K. Chandrasekhar Rao during electioneering, YSR Congress Party leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao on Tuesday said that Mr. Naidu must clarify if he was contesting against KCR in Andhra Pradesh.
“I wonder whether Mr. Naidu with nine years experience as CM of undivided AP and five years post-bifurcation has lost his mental balance ,” he told the media here, adding that Mr. Naidu’s tirade against KCR might give a sense of insecurity to people from Andhra living in Hyderabad.
Mr. Rao contended that his party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had gone on record that he would accept support from KCR for achieving Special Category Status for A.P. “In fact, our party is keen to side with all those who will support our demand for SCS post-elections,” he said.
The former Minister also sought an explanation from Telugu Desam Party as to why KCR was invited to the foundation-laying ceremony of Amaravati and the reason for Mr. Naidu attending ‘Chandi Yagam’ performed by his Telangana counterpart in 2015 in Hyderabad.
He also criticised Mr. Naidu for proposing pre-poll alliance with TRS for the Assembly elections held in Telangana last year during his chat with TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao at the cremation of former MP Nandamuri Harikrishna.
He said there was no truth in Mr. Naidu’s charge that KCR had paid ₹1,000 crore to Mr. Jagan to meet election expenses and sought an explanation as to why Secretariat and Assembly were shifted to Amaravati when the Centre allowed Hyderabad as common capital for 10 years.
YSRCP leaders Tynala Vijaya Kumar and Ravi Reddy were present.
