19 nominations accepted for Perambalur

The scrutiny of nominations for Perambalur Parliamentary constituency was taken up at the District Collectorate on Wednesday.

The exercise was presided over by Returning Officer and Collector V. Santha in the presence of General Observer Manjunath Bhajantri and other officials.

An official press release said 41 nomination papers were submitted from March 19 to 26. Out of this, 19 were accepted and 22 rejected.

The papers of AIADMK candidate N.R. Sivapathy, Indhiya Jananayaka Katchi founder T.R. Paarivendhar, contesting on DMK symbol, and independent candidate M. Rajasekaran of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam were accepted, said official sources.
