Real Madrid and Barcelona tracking Rashford

2019-03-27 10:59

Cape Town - Manchester United will resist the advances of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the off-season as they look to tie down Marcus Rashford to a new contract.

The youngster was unsettled under the leadership of Jose Mourinho, often struggling to get a game, but has flourished since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge on a caretaker basis.

So much so, he has bagged eight goals in his last 15 matches and showed a cool head when slotting home a late penalty to knock Paris Saint-Germain out of the Champions League.

Such form has again caught the attention of the Spanish giants, with some reports claiming they could test United's resolve by making a move in the off-season.

However, United have no intention of letting him leave and are said to be in talks with his representatives in regard to penning a bumper new deal.

Rashford is currently under contract until 2021 but United are keen to get him tied down to a new one in order to keep the vultures away and hope he will commit.
