Lucknow: Soon, get house tax details on your mobile

(Representative image)LUCKNOW: Soon, you will be able to access house tax details on mobile. Lucknow Municipal Corporation has decided to SMS details of house tax payment to the house owners.
According to LMC records, there are around 5.6 lakh taxable properties in the city. Out of these, LMC has so far registered contact numbers of 2.8 lakh house owners.
The corporation's tax collection in-charge Ashok Singh said the facility will begin soon once contact numbers of all owners are registered in LMC records. "This facility will help citizens to deposit their house tax without any delay," he added.
"The message sent to house owners will also have a helpline number. In case of any confusion over house tax, owners can call up the number to get the issue resolved," Singh said.
The municipal corporation has set a target of collecting Rs 260 crore in house tax in the financial year 2019-20.
