Brandwire | Updated: Mar 27, 2019, 21:38 ISTBy organizing a TED ex-event, one gets the opportunity to create a truly unique event that will unleash new ideas. St. Teresa School initiated this association under the 'Student Idea Program' in October 2018. The objective of this initiative was to enable the students to discover, explore and share their ideas.
The initiative received an enthusiastic response from the students with more than 150 students appearing for the screening. The 34-member club in STS comprises of students from age 12-18 with strong English academic background and a zeal to express themselves on a pedestal that is heard and appreciated by many. Following the scrutiny, the students showed great enthusiasm as they spoke on a wide array of topics ranging from 'reality of women empowerment in modern scenario', 'stringent laws against rapists', 'paradigm of an individual', 'dimensions of happiness' to name a few. There was an unprecedented fervor among the members during the audition phase. They chartered the discussions based on their own creative ideas and expressions. During the discussions, ideas were oozing out and the Zeal amongst the students was something never seen before. The entire ambiance was so infectious that even the hesitant students took the courage to come forward and communicate their ideas to the masses.
Such pedestals provide opportunities to remove the stage fright and allows the students to comprehend and restructure ideas for mass acceptance.
Once the members were selected the 13-step methodology was put to use to help the participants celebrate their random ideas on an uninhibited platform. The program witnessed a considerable change in its members. The students underwent rigorous training and visited the untapped dimensions of their intellect through these discussions under with their teacher mentor. Through this training, the ideas of the students were honed and given direction to attain milestones. During the sessions, the students were surprisingly amused at the easy acceptance and appreciation of their ideas among the members. Such was the enthusiasm shared by the members that the discussions sailed smoothly irrespective of the age differences among them.
The presence of platforms like Ted Ed gives a boost to the morale and confidence of the students as they become assured of their skills. Communication being the most significant tool of the current age these platforms prepare the students to face the highly competitive job market which requires individuals to express themselves with conviction. The program aims further to enhance the emotional, intellectual and societal awareness among Teresians to help in their overall development.
St. Teresa School takes pride in being the pioneer for TEDed club in the region, the initiative that enhances the cognitive discursive and presentation abilities of its student members and hones them for a global platform of competence. St. Teresa School is committed to enhancing the skills and abilities of its students through initiatives like Ted ex. The school plans to take many such initiatives in the future to facilitate its students to become industry ready.
