Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting during which he discussed security situation with army chief and key ministers.

"Security matters were discussed during the meeting," according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Officials said that latest security on both eastern and western borders as well as internal security matters was discussed.

Citing sources, Dawn reported that progress on the implementation of the Finance Action Task Force (FATF) action plan, the National Action Plan, and the ongoing crackdown on banned organisations were also discussed.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Asad Umar, Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood, MoS for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi, Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Lt Gen. Asim Munir, Foreign Secretary Tehmina janjua and other senior officials.
