A chance to learn for young advocates

more-in

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Monday appointed three advocate commissioners to assist the court on public interest litigation petitions filed against Tasmac shops, sand quarrying and compost yards near residential areas.

However, the highlight in each of the cases was that the Division Bench of Justices N. Kirubakaran and S.S. Sundar chose to appoint young advocates as the advocate commissioners in order to provide them a learning opportunity. The advocate commissioners will have to inspect and file a report in the cases concerned. The court also ordered that appropriate expense be paid to them.
