Five held for playing PUBG in Dashrath village

Vadodara: If you think that only urbanites are addicted to PUBG game, then you are in for wrong. Even the residents of rural areas seem to be hooked to this online game.
The police on Monday arrested four residents of Dashrath village on the outskirts of the city for playing PUBG. This game has been banned by the police citing violence and addiction among the youngsters.

The Chhani police said that it had received information that some youngsters played PUBG at a junction in Dashrath.

“We visited the spot on Monday and saw five youngsters playing PUBG. They were arrested for violating the notification banning the game in public place,” said P K Chavda, Chhani police inspector.

The youngsters, all residents of Dashrath, were arrested for flouting police notification that has banned the game. Their mobile phones were also seized.

All the five were later released on bail. The police have arrested several youngsters from different areas of the city in last fortnight.


The cops have said that this game is very violent and youngsters tend to become aggressive after playing it for hours.


The cops have asked citizens to contact them if they spot anyone playing the game. PUBG is an online game where the player requires internet connection.


It is a multi-player game set on a virtual battlefield where the player has to shoot each other down. After the ban, youngsters have stopped playing this game in public places.
