Actor Arjun Kapoor remembered his mother, Mona Shourie Kapoor, on her death anniversary with a heartfelt note. Arjun shared a throwback picture with his mother and wrote, “You were my smile and I hope wherever you are I make you smile still... it’s been 7 years since you left us and all your son is asking you is come back na, please.” Mona succumbed to cancer in 2012 when Arjun was awaiting the release of his Bollywood debut, Ishaqzaade.

Arjun’s sister Anshula also posted a heartfelt note for Mona. “Time changes nothing. Love you & miss you everyday Ma. 7 years since we’ve felt your hugs, heard you laugh or held your hand. Already feels like eternity, but gotta keep on keepin’ on, gotta make you proud everyday, gotta keep feeling your love with every heartbeat of our own. #AlwaysAndForever,” she wrote and posted an old photo of two of them.

Speaking of his mother, Arjun had said earlier, “She (Mom Mona) looked ahead. It’s because of her that we dealt with it, never lost touch with the family. We could have been bitter. It’s natural for a single parent to turn protective, but she let us fly. I don’t believe I would have been the person I am without that experience.”

Mona was Boney Kapoor’s first wife; the film producer later married Sridevi. After Sridevi’s death in February last year, Arjun and sister Anshula have emerged as supports for Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.

Speaking to Hindustan Times in October last year, Arjun had said, “It’s my job to be a good son to my father and the byproduct of that is I’ve managed to find two more sisters; they allow me to call them my sisters and that’s very large-hearted on their part.”
