Graham Norton's Good Story Guide
Ten, 8.30pm
In a glorious special edition of this always-entertaining show, Mr Norton and his pals try to get to the bottom of what makes for good storytelling – both in formal terms, and in the live, great-dinner-party-guest sense. A bunch of people who have all distinguished themselves as great storytellers on the big red couch – Bill Bailey, David Tennant, Rob Brydon, Miriam Margolyes - volunteer their theories. And of course we get to see the best of the best do their thing. Apart from the content (which is riotous, as you'd expect) the editing here is itself a masterclass in structure and storytelling. A string of punchlines is hilarious even though we've no idea what the preceding story was. And watching the faces of other guests as a great raconteur lets rip is as entertaining as the yarns themselves.
