Vadodara: The Vadodara Parents Association (VPA) on Monday demanded action against those schools which are allegedly collecting fees more than the provisional fees fixed by the fee regulatory committee (FRC).
VPA staged a protest demonstration at the district education office (DEO) alleging that a couple of schools in the city are mentally harassing and pressurizing children to pay more fees.

The parents body alleged that schools like Anand Vidya Vihar (AVV) are not allowing children to appear in the new academic session and have even started the process to terminate students demanding fourth quarterly installment.

“Even as the DEO has served two show cause notices to the school, the school officials are continuously harassing the children and threatening them. There are various orders which clearly state that school cannot pressurize or harass children for want of fees,” a memorandum submitted by VPA to the DEO stated.

Demanding intervention of the state government as well as the FRC, the parents body said that all the private schools should be asked to comply by the FRC orders.

The parents association has also demanded that the FRC should immediately declare fees of the pending schools, whose provisional fees is yet to be declared. “If the schools are not ready to abide by the FRC order, there are various provisions through which the state government and the FRC can take punitive action against such schools,” office-bearers of the parents body said.
