Vice-president visits Manohar Parrikar’s family, offers condolence

PANAJI: Vice-president of India M Venkaiah Naidu paid a condolence visit at the residence of former chief minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar at Dona Paula on Sunday where he said the former defence minister’s death is a big loss to the people of Goa and rest of the country.
The vice-president who is on a two-day visit to the state met family members of Parrikar and offered condolences to the bereaved family.
Stating that he had more than 30 years of association with Parrikar, Naidu said he was one of the outstanding politicians and was simple, honest and dedicated in terms of integrity. “Parrikar performed his job with great responsibility. Wherever he worked, he has done an excellent job,” Naidu said.
