PPBM organises state body meeting
TNN | Mar 25, 2019, 07:13 ISTLudhiana: A meeting of state working committee of Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) was organised in the city on Sunday. A number of office bearers and members of PPBM were present for the meeting. The meeting was presided over by state president Pyara Lal Seth.
Speaking on the occasion, Seth said: “PPBM committees are constituted in sixteen districts of Punjab and number of businessmen are associated with our organisation. Time has come to demand our rights from the government. Every businessmen should get back 10 percent as pension of the total amount of the GST and income tax paid by us to the government. In addition to this, the state government should also fulfil its promise of reducing the per unit of power to Rs 5 for the industry and at the same time the problems being faced by us in compliance with the GST should be resolved soon.”
Seth added: “One of the setback to businessmen and residents of this state is professional tax levied by the state government last year which has put additional financial burden on us. This is our final warning to the state government that if this tax is not rolled back, we will be forced to take some steps.”
Sunil Mehra, state general secretary of PPBM said, “In Punjab, political parties are making manifestos and they should declare these manifestos as legal documents. PPBM is making a manifesto of its own which will be presented to all the political parties and we will vote only for that party which will accept our manifesto and assure to resolve our problems.”
Other businessmen present in the meeting included Punjab secretary of PPBM Mohinder Aggarwal, L Arvinder Makkar, Pawan Lehar, Harkesh Mittal, Naresh Arora, Darshan Lal, Pawan Seth, Ramesh Garg, Rohit Kapoor, Manish Kansal.
