BATHINDA: Former minister late Gobind Singh Kanjhla's son Amandeep Singh Kanjhla on Monday joined Congress in the presence of party's state vice-president Kewal Singh Dhillon.

Dhillon is former MLA from Barnala and is eyeing ticket from Sangrur parliamentary constituency.

Gobind Singh Kanjhla was cabinet minister in Parkash Singh Badal government from 1997 to 2002. He died last month after prolonged illness.

Kewal Singh Dhillon while welcoming Amandeep into the party fold, said that "with former minisyer' son joining Congress, the party will strengthen in Barnala area and Sangrur parliamentary constituency. Congress is committed for development of the state and value its workers. Congress will win all seats in Punjab."

"I decided to join the party seeing the progressive policies of Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh and the developmental works done by Kewal Singh Dhillon in the region," said Kanjhla.
