Shah Rukh Khan celebrates Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL 2019 win with super fan Harshul Goenka.

A video of actor Shah Rukh Khan, hugging a differently abled fan at Sunday’s IPL match between his Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday, has been doing the rounds online. The video shows SRK hugging wheelchair-bound Harshul Goenka after of the match, which KKR won by six wickets.

The video, shared by the official KKR Twitter page, shows SRK hugging Harshul, as the fan says ‘I love you’ repeatedly. After posing for pictures, Shah Rukh tells him that he’ll return after meeting the team. “King Khan @iamsrk with our special Knight Rider, @harshulgoenka1 after an amazing win at Eden Gardens!” the post was captioned.

The actor and the fan have a history together. According to DNA, SRK Universe, Shah Rukh’s biggest fan club, had previously announced a donation of Rs 5000 towards Harshul every time KKR win a match. The same report says that the actor and cricketer Dinesh Karthik had donated Rs 1 lakh to Harshul previously.

Cricketer Gautam Gambhir, upon leaving KKR for Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) had tweeted, “I will miss many parts of @KKRiders may be will get over with time but not the Superfan Harshul ‘Boss’ Goenka. Let’s see if I can convince Boss to convert into being a @DelhiDaredevils fan. While I do that u checkout his collage.”

Shah Rukh is a regular fixture at KKR’s IPL games, and is often seen cheering the team on, sometimes accompanied by his family, including wife Gauri and children Aryan, Suhana and AbRam. Other pictures and videos from Sunday’s match showed him at the Eden Gardens with actor Juhi Chawla and singer Usha Uthup.

SRK last appeared on screen in the critical and commercial flop Zero, a fable about a small-town dwarf with larger-than-life ambitions. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the film failed to crack the Rs 100 crore mark at the domestic box office. The underperformance of the ambitious film is said to have contributed to Shah Rukh’s decision to back out of a biopic on Rakesh Sharma.
