56-year-old collapses at Metro station, dies

Representative imageKOLKATA: Haran Mandal, a 56-year-old resident of Pragati Avenue in Bansdroni, suddenly fell ill minutes after entering the Kalighat Metro station to board a train around 2.30pm on Sunday.
On seeing him suddenly collapse, other commuters immediately alerted the Metro authorities, who in turn, alerted the Kalighat police station. Mandal was taken to M R Bangur Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. A case of unnatural death was registered at the Kalighat police station. A preliminary inquiry revealed Mandal had acute cardiac problem.
