As heat wave hits interior Tamil Nadu, days to get hotter

CHENNAI: The next few days are going to get hotter as a heat wave has hit the interior parts of Tamil Nadu. The Met department has forecast maximum temperature of 34°C in Chennai on Sunday.


It was fluctuating between 32°C and 33°C in the past few days. The mornings are going to be partly cloudy and clear thereafter. There is no forecast of summer rain.


Interior Tamil Nadu experienced a heat wave on Saturday. The maximum temperature was at 40°C in Karur Paramathi while it was 39.6°C at Salem. Vellore, Thiruthani, and Dharmapuri recorded 39°C. Madurai, Palayamkottai, Trichy, and Coimbatore recorded slightly above 38°C. Forecast says the temperature will be higher by 2°C in the districts.
