Migrant labourer booked under Pocso
TNN | Mar 25, 2019, 04:18 ISTMangaluru: Sleuths from the Punjalkatte police station have booked a young migrant labourer on charges of impregnating his relative, a minor, under the pretext of marriage.
According to the victim, she along with his grandparents and some distant relatives had migrated to Bantwal to earn their livelihood a year ago. They were daily wage labourers and were residing together in a makeshift tent.
Somashekhar, the accused, who is in his early 20s, first made sexual advances towards the victim on the night of January 5. The girl alleged that Somashekhar sexually exploited her multiple times since then on the pretext of marriage.
The family members, who learnt that the girl was pregnant, filed a police complaint. Somashekhar has been booked under the Pocso Act.
