Younger son of Maharaja of Patiala, Kunwar Devinder Singh passes away

PATIALA: Kunwar Devinder Singh, younger son of late Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh passed away at his residence at Patiala on Sunday evening. He was 83. Kunwar Devinder, the paternal uncle of Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh, had not been keeping well for the last one year. He is survived by his wife, son and daughter.
His wife Amarjit Kaur is a former member of Rajya Sabha and daughter of Col Raghbir Singh.
Following his death, his son, who lives in US and daughter, who is in Australia, were on their way to Patiala. Kunwar Devinder Singh was an alumni of Bishop Cotton school, Shimla and an outstanding sportsperson of his times. He was a contemporary of Virbhadra Singh, former chief minister of Himachal Pradesh. His cremation would be announced after the arrival of his children at Patiala.
