When asked if declining tickets to four sitting MPs in Assam will impact the BJP's prospect in Assam, Madhav said, "We had detailed discussion after receiving the recommendations from the state. We considered all the aspects and then announced the names of the candidates for this election.

"We are fully confident that we will get support of the old candidates and the public as well. We will win these seats.
