Two-year-old girl is fighting for life after a horror freak accident at a racetrack
A toddler is fighting for her life after a group of spectators at a raceway north of Brisbane were hit by a starting gate.
The two-year-old was among four people from Kensington Grove injured at a paceway club in Redcliffe on Sunday night after the starting vehicle's gate failed to retract and hit a group of spectators, police said.
The girl was airlifted to Queensland Children's Hospital and is in a critical condition with injuries to her face and stomach.
A one-year-old child and a 39-year-old woman were also taken to the Queensland Children's Hospital while a 39-year-old man was taken to the Royal Brisbane Hospital.
None of their injuries were life threatening, police said.
