Man murders 12-year-old boy in Delhi, stuffs body in sack, dumps in drain: Police

delhi Updated: Mar 24, 2019 08:33 ISTA man was arrested on Friday for murdering a 12-year-old boy, stuffing the body in a sack and later dumping it in a drain close in northeast Delhi’s Karawal Nagar, said police.
Atul Kumar Thakur, deputy commissioner of police (north-east), said that the 22-year-old suspect Nanhe, intended to make money on the pretext of helping the boy’s parents find their son who had gone missing around two weeks ago.
Nanhe was among four suspects named by the boy’s parents after his disappearance. The DCP said that all the four had been repeatedly questioned, but didn’t find evidence against them
The boy was a resident of Shiv Vihar of Karawal Nagar, the police said.
In her statement to the police, his mother said that he had left home around 7.30pm on March 11. “The boy had told his sister that he was going to meet Nanhe,” said the DCP.
When the boy did not return home, a kidnapping case was registered.
The body was found in a drain around noon on Friday. “The boy’s leg was popping out of the sack. A local resident spotted it and alerted the police,” said the boy’s father.
