A 29-year-old constable who shot himself died on Saturday, said the police.
The deceased, Saravana Kumar, was on duty as a guard at the residence of Justice M.V. Muralidharan. On Wednesday evening, the constable shot himself with his service rifle. Hearing the gun shot, colleagues and passersby rushed him to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for treatment. He was in critical condition and died in the hospital on Saturday according to police source.
