‘Didn’t join’: Sapna shatters Congress dream

LUCKNOW: Congress was left red-faced on Sunday when Haryanvi folk singer Sapna Chaudhary rebutted news about her joining the party. Speaking to reporters, Sapna said, “Nahi maine Congress nahi join ki… bilkul nahi ki.. (no I have not joined Congress.. not at all). Denying association with the grand old party, Sapna also said her picture with Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi doing the rounds in social media was an old one. “I am an artist and keep meeting politicians,” she said.

Congress leaders in Uttar Pradesh, however, confirmed that Sapna joined the party at the residence of UPCC president Raj Babbar on Saturday evening. Babbar also tweeted Sapna’s photograph from his official handle stating: “Sapnaji ka Congress parivaar mein swagat hai”.
