
A fire broke out at an operation theatre in the trauma centre of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi late on Sunday.
Four fire tenders were rushed to the spot and all the patients were evacuated to safety.
“A medium category fire broke out at 6.12 pm at the basement of the AIIMS trauma centre. The fire is completely under control now. There are no casualties. The upper floor was vacated due to the smoke,” chief fire officer Atul Garg was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The fire department also said that oxygen leakage from a pipe is being fixed.
