BENGALURU: There is no relief for Bengalureans from the summer sizzle, even as parts of Tumakuru, Kodagu and Chitradurga in south interior Karnataka received isolated rainfall on Sunday.
“There is little scope for rain in Bengaluru. In fact, there are chances of mercury levels further peaking and touch about 37 degrees Celsius in the next few days in the city. The current maximum temperature is around 35 degrees Celsius,” an official from the Meteorological Centre said.
There were reports of hailstorm in parts of Kodagu. The department predicted rain or thunder showers over some places in South Interior Karnataka for the next few days.
“There is a likelihood of short spells of showers over Chitradurga, Kodagu, Tumakuru and Mysuru for the next two days. This is mainly to the local factors and the weather system as such is not favourable for widespread rainfall in the state. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over Coastal Karnataka & North Interior Karnataka as usual,” said the official.
