The State government is yet to relieve former Kadiri Circle Inspector and YSRCP candidate for Hindupur Parliamentary seat Kuruva Gorantla Madhav from service despite an order from the Administrative Tribunal.
The tribunal has asked the government to consider his application for voluntary retirement and relieve him immediately to enable him to file nomination papers.
Against this background, the YSRCP has asked him to file papers along with his wife Kuruva Savitha and retired judge M. Krishnappa. The party will take a decision on Monday morning to name the candidate after ascertaining the status of the VRS application of Mr. Madhav.
The Hindupur candidate has met party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad and discussed the future course of action. Mr. Madhav, while criticising the government said: “there is no dearth of leadership in the party and even if he is wrongfully prevented from contesting elections.”
In 2014 elections, TDP leader Bandaru Ravi Kumar who had got Form ‘B’ from the party could not file his nomination from Singanamala (SC) constituency as his VRS application was not approved in time. The party gave his daughter Bandaru Sravani Sree a chance this time and she has filed the nomination.
