Rally on water conservation held

Ludhiana: An awareness rally on water conservation was organised by members of BJP and Jal Sarakshan from clock tower to Division No. 3 chowk on Friday. They were also joined in by students of the Kamla Lohtia college and Devki Devi Jain College.

The rally went through Chura Bazaar as well wherein participants raised slogans like ‘jal hai toh kal hai’, ‘jal bachaoo toh desh bachao’. Vice-president of district BJP Rajeshwari Gosain was also present in the rally.


Managing Jal Sarakshan, an organization which works for making people aware about water conservation and its preservation, its president and former member of parliament Avinash Rai Khanna said, “The water table of the state if depleting at a great speed not only due to consumption, but also due to its wastage.” He added that water is not available even after digging a 100 feet.


Amit Gosain, ex-spokeperson of Punjab BJP said, “We urged residents to save water and recycle the same.”
