Supposed United target Jadon Sancho provided an assist on his first competitive start for England, while Paul Pogba provided a delightful assist from Antoine Griezmann in France's win against Moldova on the same night. David De Gea played 90 minutes in Spain's 2-1 win against Norway on Saturday.

How Sir Alex Ferguson approach at United is helping England
Gareth Southgate has revealed how he is hoping to emulate Sir Alex Ferguson’s attitude to youth football within his role as England manager.

“We’ve got to be thinking about all of that all of the time because it’s very easy for them to enjoy these moments, and they’ve got to enjoy these moments, but equally, there’s a good balance.
“I always think of Sir Alex with Ryan (Giggs) and how he did that so well. They had sustained success because of that.
“So, although they’re not our player on a day-to-day basis, I think we’ve got a responsibility to do that as much as we can, because also we’re putting them onto another level and we’ve got to make sure we get the balance right for the club, but most importantly for the player.”

What Ferguson told Man Utd squad in dressing room after losing title to Man City
Sir Alex Ferguson lambasted his squad for ‘not being ruthless enough’ after Manchester City pipped them to the Premier League title on goal difference in 2012.
It was one of the most dramatic moments in Premier League history.
Ferguson’s team were waiting on the pitch after beating Sunderland at the Stadium of Light and with City losing at the Etihad to Queens Park Rangers United were set to be crowned champions, that was until two last minute goals including Sergio Aguero’s 93rd minute winner meant City were crowned Premier League champions for the first time.
A painful way for any team to lose a title and Ferguson told his players it was their own fault they weren’t going home with another Premier League medal.
“I’ll never forget in the dressing room after that game,” former Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley recalled to manutd.com. “The manager said to us all: ‘I told you. That ’s why I wanted you to be more ruthless and really kill teams, because you can lose leagues on goal difference.

Man Utd legend Giggs explains why he disliked Arsenal more than Liverpool
Most Manchester United fans would say Liverpool are the club’s biggest rivals but Ryan Giggs has revealed he disliked Arsenal more during the late 1990s.

Speaking about his dislike for their team and their players Giggs told The Daily Mail : “I didn’t like Vieira ’cos he was dirty and got away with murder. I didn’t like Petit because he had long hair. I didn’t like Bergkamp.
“I didn’t like Pires even though when you meet him now he’s actually dead nice. I wouldn’t even look at them, didn’t know them and didn’t want to. I wouldn’t allow myself to rate any of them.
