SP-BSP workers in Azamgarh hail SP chief’s nomination

Varanasi: The Samajwadi Party leaders and workers indulged on celebrations after Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav announced to contest 2019 Lok Sabha election from Azamgarh parliamentary seat, on Sunday. The alliance partner Bahujan Samaj Party also indulged in celebrations on the occasion.
Following the party’s decision, MLA Alam Badi, senior leaders including Sangram Yadav, Vijay Yadav, Vijay Chauhan and Harikesh Yadav reached the party’s district unit office while BSP’s district chief Arvind and other leaders also joined them in celebrations.
The jubilant leaders and supporters distributed sweets and raised slogans in support of the party president and grand alliance of SP and BSP.
Addressing the workers on the occaiosn, district unit president of SP Havaldar Yadav mobilized them to work hard to retain the seat.
Celebrations were also evident at former minister and MLA Durga Prasad Yadav’s office where several SP and BSP supporters gathered to celebrate the occasion. Huge gathering of party supporters in Mubarakpur assembly area and Sathiyao unit offices were also evident.
Azamgarh parliamentary seat is currently represented by SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav.
