BENGALURU: After disruptions in domestic flight schedules, international services too are now being cancelled by Jet Airways due to non-payment to lessors.
Recently, the airline cancelled the Bengaluru-Singapore daily service. With this, Bengaluru-Amsterdam remains the only international direct service being offered by the airlines from Kempegowda International Airport.
With several connecting flights to Mumbai and Delhi for international destinations being cancelled as well, people's holiday plans have gone for a toss. Among the affected routes in this case are Bengaluru-Singapore, Bengaluru-Dubai, Bengaluru-Australia and Bengaluru-Dammam.
The airlines has also cancelled flights on Delhi-Riyadh, Delhi-Hong Kong, Delhi-Dubai, Delhi-Dammam, Mumbai-Jeddah, Mumbai-Dammam, Mumbai-Doha, Mumbai-Singapore, Mumbai-Manchester and Mumbai-Hong Kong routes too.
"Jet Airways is currently operating a curtailed schedule, having made certain proactive adjustments, bearing in mind the likely yet interim non-availability of some aircraft in its fleet in the near future. This unfortunately includes the temporary suspension of the airline's operations from Bengaluru to Singapore. As a priority, the airline has been focusing to minimise guest inconvenience by ensuring guests as well as the regulator (DGCA) are informed of these interim changes well in advance, given the temporary yet network-wide (domestic and international) impact of these changes. The airline continues to operate direct daily flights to Amsterdam," a Jet Airways spokesperson told TOI.
"The airline remains confident of successfully resolving the current situation in the coming days and remains actively engaged with its lessors, providing them regular updates on its efforts to improve liquidity as well as ensure operational reliability," the spokesperson added.
