RAJKOT: Two cousins, Parshottam Parmar (28) and his cousin Om Solanki (13), both residents of Valmikivas locality in Veraval. drowned while taking bath in the sea after Holi on Thursday. The two apparently had dived when the sea was choppy off the Veraval coast in Gir-Somnath district and giant waves buffeting about, said cops.
“There were several other residents of their locality who were playing or bathing in the sea. However, a giant wave pulled the duo inside and they drowned,” said an official from Veraval city police station.
While the body of Parshottam, who worked as a labour contractor, was fished out three hours later in a rescue operation carried out by fishermen, the body of Om, a class IX student, was found washed ashore on Friday morning.
