Sitting Telugu Desam Party MLA Damacharla Janardhana Rao and former Minister and senior YSR Congress Party leader Balineni Srinivasa Rao were among the eight candidates who filed their nominations for the Ongole Assembly seat on Friday.

Former Union Minister J.D.Seelam (Congress), sitting TDP MP Sriram Malyadri and YSRCP nominee Nandigama Suresh filed their papers for the Bapatla Lok Sabha seat.

In all, 63 candidates filed their papers on Friday in 12 Assembly constituencies in Prakasam district.

They include TDP nominees B.Ajitha Rao (Yerragondapalem), M.Ashok Reddy (Giddalur), Kadiri Babu Rao (Darsi), Y.Sambasiva Rao (Parchur), Gottipatti Ravikumar (Addanki), Pothula Rama Rao (Kandukur), Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy (Kondepi) and Kandula Narayana Reddy (Markapur).

YSR Congress Party candidates who filed their papers include Dr.A.Suresh (Yerragondapalem), M.Venugopal Rao (Darsi), B.Ch.Garataiah (Addanki) and Pedda Konda Reddy (Markapur).
