By fielding Patra from the constituency, the party has put an end to the speculation that Modi would contest from the pilgrim town.

Odisha has been declared the party's candidate for Kalahandi, for Bargarh, Nitesh for Sambalpur and for Koraput parliamentary constituency.

Among the 22 Assembly seats declared by the party, Shisir Gamang, son of former Minister Giridhar Gamang, has been fielded from Gunpur assembly constituency.

Earlier, the party had declared first list of candidates for 185 constituencies that included the names of Modi (Varanasi), (Lucknow), and Shah (Gandhinagar).

Talking to the media after releasing the list, said the party would like to clear the candidates for first and second phase as soon as possible.
