After days of suspense and drama, the Congress has finally fielded former Union Minister Renuka Chowdary from Khammam Lok Sabha seat.
Though the party announced candidates for 16 seats much earlier, Khammam was kept pending for various reasons, including waiting for a big fish from other parties.
Ms. Renuka will take on Nama Nageshwara Rao fighting on the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) ticket.
Mr. Rao got the TRS nomination within hours of joining the party, having resigned from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) the previous day.
In fact, Mr. Rao contested Khammam Assembly seat on TDP ticket and lost to the TRS candidate.
There were rumours that he would join the Congress for the Khammam ticket but he landed in the TRS.
