MANGALURU: A Sullia-based man, who has been fancying his chances of hitting a jackpot for 4 years, finally won big after a lucky draw turned him into a millionaire overnight.

Sudhama B Maniyani, who runs a small food joint for the past 24 years, has now got richer by almost Rs 4 crore. One of the three lottery tickets he bought for Rs 450 earlier this month has earned him unbelievable dividends.

On his way back from Malla Sree Durgaparameshwari Temple in Kasargod on March 1, Sudhama came across an outlet selling the Kerala State Lottery tickets. Trying his luck with numbers for yet another time, Sudhama bought three tickets of the Summer Bumper Draw, each worth Rs 150. A few days later, the agency declared the results and advertised the winning ticket number on social media, which changed Sudhama’s life for good.

“Since I have never won a lottery earlier, I was not keen on following up with the results. It was only after learning that someone from Sullia had bagged the prize did I surf the internet and found out that I had gotten lucky for the first time,” Sudhama said.

Though he has not decided on how exactly he would spend the money, Sudhama certainly has plans to educate his three sons Nitish, Sharath and Manwith, and lead a fairytale life with his wife Prabhavathi.
