Amruta Khanvilkar has a tendency to roughly plan her year in advance. The Raazi (2018) actor had decided that this year was going to be about trying out new mediums. While she made her digital debut last year with Damaged, the actor is making her television fiction debut this year.

Directed by Satish Rajwade, the finite series will see Amruta paired opposite actor Swapnil Joshi. The duo was seen together in the film, Welcome Zindagi (2015). On working with the two talented men, Amruta says, “Swapnil and I share a great friendship, companionship and chemistry, all of which translate on screen. With Satish, I admire his unbiased nature. No matter how well you know him, he will call you for a project only if you fit the character. So, if he approaches you for something, you can be sure that you are the perfect fit.”

Amruta believes that the medium of her projects never really mattered as she always focused on doing things to a T. Be it Hindi or Marathi films, a reality show or anchoring, she believes in exploring. “I’m shuttling between languages and mediums. I am enjoying every bit of this phase. I have always believed in taking the leap of faith and breaking boundaries. Nobody likes to be typecast. Also, if directors, scriptwriters and music composers take chances and explore, so should we, as actors,” says the Katyar Kaljat Ghusali (2015) actor.

She has two Marathi films and a Hindi film lined up this year. “I want people to see my work and know me for my potential and capacity. They should look at a project and say, ‘Oh, Amruta is in it, it has to be special’,” she says.
