NAGPUR: Green Vigil Foundation, a city based NGO, commemorated World Water Day (WWD) 2019 by conducting a citizen outreach campaign at Futala Lake on this year’s theme - Water for All, leaving no one behind.

GVF members interacted with citizens on human right of clean and safe water for drinking, sanitation, hygiene and other purposes, without any discrimination.

With colourful placards and posters, the NGO members apprised the citizens on the necessity and ways of water conservation by adopting water sustainability practices and reducing water footprints.

"Nagpur faces acute shortage of water every summer and will be requiring 9.63 million metre cubic more water this summer compared to last year’s requirement as per the study carried out by NMC’S Water Works Department, hence, the team members appealed citizens to conserve the water resources of city and prevent pollution of water bodies," said Surbhi Jaiswal, team lead, GVF.
