Armed police sealed off a Gwynedd street for several hours today while they dealt with an on-going incident.
At least 20 officers - including armed response teams and uniformed officers as well as police dog handlers, were spotted in attendance at Bro Cynan in Pwllheli.
The three blocks of flats which comprise part of the estate off Caernarfon Road were cordoned off while officers stood guard at both a police cordon and the doorways to properties.
Residents were only allowed to come and go under police escort.
Officers and paramedics had been initially alerted at about 11.30am to what is understood to have been reports a man may have been assaulted.
As the armed officers patrolled the area other officers were seen searching in bins, communal areas and in the hedges around the estate.

One witness said they appeared to be looking for "something specific".
The man told North Wales Live: "I was in the flat at about 11.30am when I heard shouting and swearing outside.
"I looked out and saw two men standing outside. One of them was bleeding from the arm and the other one ran away.
"Police and paramedics were here soon afterwards."

Later dog handlers were brought in to search the area.
North Wales Police tweeted: "Officers are dealing with an on-going incident in Bro Cynan, Pwllheli. It is requested that members of the public avoid the area at this time. The road is closed. Thank you."
A man was seen being led away in handcuffs flanked by armed police at around 3pm and was driven away in a waiting police vehicle.
Police tweeted shortly afterwards that the 'incident had been resolved' but have not yet provided any further details.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed they had attended a call in the area but was unable to confirm if anyone had been taken to hospital.
