Andhra Pradesh elections 2019: Crorepatis in race to become MPs, MLAs

HYDERABAD: This year, Andhra Pradesh has crorepati MP candidates from both the TDP and YSRC who have more than Rs 100 crore assets contesting the Lok Sabha polls. Actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna’s son-in-law Bharat Matukumilli, who is contesting from Vizag on the TDP ticket, is among those in the list with more than Rs 200 crore. Raghuram Krishna Raju of YSRC owns huge assets which surpass Rs 300 crore.
Bharat’s income increased to Rs 23 lakh per annum in 2018-19 from Rs 5 lakh in 2014-15. His wife Tejaswini’s income too increased from Rs 10 lakh per annum in 2014-15 to Rs 57 lakh per annum in 2018-19. Bharat has immovable assets worth Rs 190 crore, which includes a farmhouse in Gurgaon, while his wife has immovable assets worth Rs 27 crore.
Bharat also has investments to the tune of Rs 5.52 crore in companies such as Sideshwari Power Generation, VBC Renewable Energy, Natural Sands, Basil Infra Projects, VBC Industries and VBC Ferro Alloys.
His wife Tejaswini has shares in Medwin. She has diamonds, gold, silver, and bank deposits worth Rs 7.26 crore.
Their one-year-old son has movable assets worth Rs 2.26 crore.
K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, the YSRC candidate from Narsapur Lok Sabha constituency, and his wife together own both movable and immovable assets worth Rs 324 crore and have liabilities of Rs 101 crore. YSRC MP candidate from Rajampet PV Mithun Reddy and his wife have assets worth Rs 67 crore. Among the assembly candidates, Goutham Reddy and JC Pavan Reddy are topping the list of those with huge assets among those who filed nominations so far.
