Tickets in the General Elections-2019 should be given to benevolent, vegetarian, teetotaler, virtuous and true patriots only. These views were expressed by Baba Umakant Maharaj on Wednesday at a 3-day ongoing Holi Satsang programme at Baba Jaigurudev Aashram, Maxi Road. He appealed the political parties to choose an appropriate candidate so that India would emerge as a world leader.
He was of the view that all the criminal activities that are happening in the country is because of people’s addiction to liquor and drugs. So he advised people to abstain from all sorts of intoxication. In the 3-day Holi Satsang programme people from all over the country gathered at the aashram. Taking the opportunity, the Baba appealed the Election Commission to put a ban on the sale of liquor as a part of election code of conduct.
