VADODARA: To encourage young minds of Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) to explore new options and opportunities other than traditional careers, the university has established an Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation Cell (EDIC).
CHARUSAT's EDIC recently organised an investor information seminar with Nin Desai, CEO of NIN Ventures LLC, Chicago, United States.
Desai heads NIN Ventures, a crowd funded technology venture capital firm that invests in series A and B rounds of 3D printing, the 4th industrial revolution, cloud computing, virtual reality, financial services, education software, and other disruptive technology companies.
More than 85 aspiring entrepreneurs and incubates of engineering, management and pharmacy participated and benefitted in this investor information meeting.
She said that CHARUSAT is well versed and advanced in promoting entrepreneurial activities among the students.
"We aim to create an entrepreneurial eco-system within CHARUSAT", said Dr Pankaj Joshi, provost of CHARUSAT.
"EDIC at CHARUSAT acts as a catalyst in identifying, motivating and nurturing entrepreneurial talents, mentoring them towards sustainable pursuits through entrepreneurship awareness, education, training and research," said Dr Devang Joshi, registrar.
"The modern tech industry start-ups raise piles of money from investors, and then use the cash to grow aggressively faster than the competition, regulators, most normal businesses, and would consider well-balanced. At EDIC, we nurture these young entrepreneurs and connect them with venture capitalists to vocalize their business ideas," said Dr Govind Dave, dean of CHARUSAT's Faculty of Management Studies.
