At the 2019 Hannover Messe, Siemens will be presenting a range of additional modules for the new Sitop PSU6200 power supply range introduced in November 2018. In terms of their look and feel, the new selectivity and redundancy modules are a perfect fit for the complete power supply range and provide all-round 24 volts protection.
Part of the Sitop PSU6200 power supply range, the new Sitop selectivity modules SEL1200/SEL1400 and Sitop redundancy modules RED1200 provide all-round 24 volts protection in the plant.
The selectivity modules Sitop SEL1200 and Sitop SEL1400 separate the 24 volts output of a power supply into eight different load circuits. Thanks to the isolation and the electronic current monitoring on each circuit, the power supply remains stable in every other circuit even if, for example, a critical overload or short circuit occurs in a circuit due to a defective consumer unit. A special feature of these new modules is their diagnostic ability. If a load circuit is switched off due to a defect, the relevant warning LED (light-emitting diode) lights up and the reason for the switch-off is reported via a digital input to the controller. Similarly, the user receives up-to-date information on the current power consumption.
Sitop add-on modules ensure protection of 24 volts supplies by bridging power supply, consumer unit, or mains
High protection by redundant design
The Sitop RED1200 20 ampere or 40 ampere redundancy modules can be used as required for voltages from 12 to 48 volts. Their main application area is the protection of mains or power supply failures by redundant switching of at least two power supplies. The integral diode also makes them particularly suitable for use as decoupling modules for secure parallel switching to increase output or for serial switching to increase the voltage of power supplies.
