MUMBAI: Many school teachers busy with state board exam work have been appointed on election duty. In a letter to the state election commission, the school education department has requested that officials of the state education board and teachers involved in work concerning SSC and HSC exams be exempted from election duty.
Many teachers said they have received letters from the collector's office, deputing them on election duty. Teachers' associations claimed that this may affect their ongoing exam work and consequently lead to a delay in announcement of results.
