Constable, two others killed in separate road accidents

Nagpur: A police constable was among three people who were killed in separate accidents between Wednesday and Thursday night at different locations in the city. In both the cases, police have registered a case of rash driving and death due to negligence against the driver of killer vehicles.
Constable Ajit Singh Thakur, 27, succumbed to injuries at a private hospital where he was admitted after meeting with an accident on Thursday night at Mankapur railway over bridge. Thakur was posted at the rural headquarters.
Cops said Thakur, a resident of Mankapur, was returning home after duty when his bike rammed into a truck in the front which abruptly stopped on the bridge. An injured Thakur was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died during treatment. Jaripatka police have arrested the truck driver Gendlal Warkhede.
In another incident, two friends were killed after their bike was hit by a speeding truck from behind on Wednesday late night at Dongargaon Shivar. The deceased, Ramji Chanap and Pramod Chulpar, were headed to Jamtha when the accident took place. They were rushed to a hospital by passers-by. The truck driver fled the spot leaving behind the vehicle.
