Youth stabbed: Police launch hunt for 2 men
TNN | Mar 22, 2019, 04:07 ISTThiruvananthapuram: A 28-year-old youth hailing from Kanyakumari district in Tamil Nadu was seriously injured after he was stabbed by two persons during a quarrel at Chenkavila near Parassala on Thursday morning. The police identified the injured as Jacob, a software engineer. Pozhiyoor police have registered a case and launched a search for the accused Rajappan and his son Baiju.
According to the police, the incident happened around 4.30am on Thursday.
“Jacob worked for a Hyderabad-based IT company and also worked part time at an establishment here called Anoop Sounds, providing technical assistance in setting up sound systems for festivals and parties,” said Pozhiyoor sub-inspector V Jayakumar. On Thursday morning, he was testing a sound system mounted on a truck comprising 34 big sound boxes that he had set up for a festival in Tamil Nadu.
The accused Rajappan and Baiju lived nearby. They had complained of loud noise in the past too. They confronted Jacob and another employee of the firm and verbally abused them for causing too much noise during the early hours of the day. The quarrel made way for a fight. In the melee, Baiju grabbed a stone and thrashed Jacob while Rajappan stabbed him multiple times with a weapon that is yet to be identified.
Jacob was admitted to CSI Medical College, Karakonam. Doctors told the police that despite multiple injuries his condition was not life threatening. tnn
